Policies and Admission Information

Wee World Preschool is a non-profit service organization which is governed by a Board of Directors and is licensed by the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services.  Wee World will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, creed or national origin.

  1. Wee World is licensed for 20 students per session.
  2. Classes are held Monday through Friday from September through May as follows:  3 year olds Tues. and Thurs,     4 / 5 year olds Mon., Wed. and Fri.
  3. Goals of Wee World are as stated in the Wee World Preschool Handbook.
  4. Conferences will be held in the fall and a written assessment will be sent home in the spring.
  5. Wee World is insured by Church Mutual Insurance Company for property, automobile, general liability, and medical coverage.
  6. Wee World policy requires a health care summary and immunization record to be submitted each fall for each child’s individual record file.
  7. Children who become ill will be isolated and parents will be notified and asked to pick them up.  If your child has a temperature of 100* or has colored discharge from their nose, we ask that you do not send them to preschool.  Also, if your child becomes ill due to communicable or infectious disease we ask that you notify the preschool.  Parents will be notified of exposure to a communicable or infectious disease in a special letter.
  8. In case of an emergency or accident the family doctor and parent will be notified.  Wee World staff will not administer any type of medication to children.  Accident forms are filled out for any injury by the staff.  The staff must have current first aid and safety instruction and shall administer first aid as necessary.  In a medical emergency with a major injury the child will be taken to the Tracy Hospital and parents will be contacted.
  9. At pre-registration the parents will be asked to sign an emergency card giving Wee World staff permission to use syrup of Ipecac with the advice of the Poison Control Center.
  10. A parent permission form granting permission for children to attend field trips will be signed before each trip.
  11. A picture / publicity release form is signed at the time of pre-registration.
  12. Snacks and beverages are provided by a designated parent on a rotation basis.  All snacks must be store purchased and meet USDA guidelines.
  13. Wee World demonstrates a positive approach to discipline.  No child shall be separated from the group unless he/she is in danger of harming themselves or others.  Nor shall they be subjected to corporal or psychological abuse by staff.
  14. Pets are welcomed upon prior arrangements.
  15. Parents of enrolled students are always welcome as visitors at the Preschool.
  16. When children are transported to another location for a field trip, adult drivers will have had to complete a background check from the State of Minnesota and auto insurance cards are on file.  Staff will have already completed this form.
  17. All complaints against Wee World Preschool will be handled in a prompt and confidential manner.  Every effort will be made to resolve the complaint with the Teacher / Director.  If this decision is not acceptable to the complainant they may take their concern to the Board of Directors.  This individual should contact the secretary so that their concern may be placed on the meeting agenda.  The Board of Directors will listen to the individual’s concern and decide what action should take place.  These concerns will be dealt with at the next scheduled board meeting, usually within 30 days.
